WHAT COLOR ARE YOUR DREAMS?

Color is one of the strongest elements of symbolism. Whether we are talking about art, chakras, auras, crystals, candle magic or décor, each color holds a certain vibrational energy. The colors we see in our dreams are part of the message from our subconscious. They can reflect our emotional state or our current state of being. The vibrancy and hue of the color also gives us clues as to our mental and emotional state.

Let’s say, for example, that you dream you’re about to take off in a big hot-air balloon. The colors in the balloon – red, orange, and green - are clear and bright. The balloon itself might signify that you are preparing to rise above a particular situation or that you are ready for more adventure in your life. In particular you are looking to use your personal power (red), enthusiasm (orange), and healing energy (green) to make it happen and the clarity of the colors show that your psyche as a positive focus.

Another example might be a dream about a new puppy, which could signify the possibility of taking on a new project or responsibility of some sort – or you are literally thinking about getting a dog! If you dream that the color of the puppy is a bright, vibrant brown, your subconscious may be telling you that what you are contemplating is grounded and practical. On the other hand, if the color seems pale brown and murky, you may have some concerns about it.

Here is an abbreviated list of possible meanings for some color in dreams.

RED                      Energy, force, will, action, passion

ORANGE            Creativity, sociability, enthusiasm, life transitions

YELLOW             Mental clarity, optimism, wisdom

GREEN                Health and healing, growth, prosperity,

BLUE                    Truth, wisdom, tranquility, loyalty

INDIGO               Intuition, spiritual awareness,

PURPLE              Mystery, higher consciousness, one-with-God

BLACK                Unknown, fear, uncertainty

WHITE                Purity, holiness, cleansing

GRAY                    Depression, lack of clarity, unable to commit

You can find all kinds of books about dream symbols and they usually include colors, and of course, there’s a lot of information out on the internet. But ultimately, as with basic dream interpretation, it’s your dream, so if your own associations with a color are different, then use your own definition!

Pleasant dreams!
